After a week long break I was ready to get back to training. This old body of mine sure is talking to me especially my shoulders. I'm sure one of these days one of these shoulders or both of these shoulders will need replacement. I'm doing my best with all my rehab and my recovery work to push through and to continue on with my goals that I have set for myself.
With my shoulders hurting as bad as they were even after a week break I decided it would be smart to drop my projection bench from 750 to 730. That's not what I want to do but I know that's what is needed. It's like with all things it seems like the older you get, the smarter you get but it gets harder and harder to do the things you want to do. So you have to be smarter or get hurt and I defiantly don't want to do that. All my sets went well today with 730 and I am glad that I dropped the number. I would rather live to fight another day than not be able to lift at all.
My team mates are absolutely killing it right now in this training cycle. The upcoming meet is getting closer and they are beginning to get hungrier. There has been no missed lifts this training cycle thus far. I would like to contribute that to smart coaching and a quality training cycle that will lead to success. In just a few short weeks we will get to see where all this hard work leads them.
