Just a reminder to all my loyal friends and followers out there , we are not all perfect but we are not alone. Over the past two years I seek out help when it came to my own Mental Health and attitude. Many times especially in strength Sports we glorify the pain and the isolationism we feel in the weights and the struggle of getting stronger , but the name of the game in everything is longevity. After dealing with extreme anxiety apathy and anger I realized that this may allow me to push myself towards my goals both athletically and career-oriented but I would not be able to sustain that attitude indefinitely. It took a lot of swallowing my own Pride and humility that I struggle with to seek out help and be diagnosed with anxiety and depression and subsequently become medicated for those things. The purpose of this though is the show The Net benefit I received from seeking out help. So many individuals out there are either scared or too proud to identify these issues they have and look to other people to help them with them. I just hope that the fact that I am or try to be very open when it comes to my own mental health relating to my regular life and my performance-based athleticism will help people be comfortable to look to others for help in their own struggles. And by the way the jury is still out on kratom I have just recently started using this but I have experienced pretty great elevation of my mood so far and a calming effect that seems to work synergistically with my normal SSRI. So far I have nothing but good things to say and it goes to show you that even if you do seek out and receive help it is a constant battle. Just because you receive a depression medication doesn't mean that you are automatically taking happy pills it takes work everyday and it takes a certain sense of objectivity to keep identifying what you struggle with and at the same time continue to move forward. Hope this helps somebody because I know it helps me. @elitefts @ks_virtualcoaching @kabukistrengthlab #TeamEliteFTS #STRONGTHESULLIVANWAY #kabukistrength #TeamKS #KSVirtualCoaching #HowMuchYaBench #STrongSleeves #Slingshot A post shared by Joe Sullivan (@joesullivanpowerlifter) on May 18, 2017 at 10:13am PDT
