Well f*$k....

I knew my left knee was hurting and there could be something wrong but I never thought to the extent of what I found out....

I went and had my MRI done on my left knee and went today and had my surgeon give me the low down on my knee.

First thing he said to me was, "Joey, how in the hell have you not been in here already with all you have going on with this knee?"
Me, "I did not have a reason to I guess"
Dr. "You are a hard headed bastard aint ya, Lol?"
Me, "Yes sir!"
Dr., "Ok, first off your Medial Meniscus is torn and Lateral Meniscus is torn."
Me, "?"
Dr., "You have Cartilage Disorder, Cartilage Tear, Arthritis, Plica syndrome, Bone particles broken off from bottom of knee cap and those bone particles are floating around in the body of the knee which could lead to one those sharp particles possible cutting your ACL tendon."
Me, "Damn....is that it?"
Dr. "And you have a large bone spur."

He went on to tell me that the bone spur is what got aggravated from all of the walking I did in NYC for a week and that the severe pain I am feeling is radiating from that. He also said in a way its a good thing the bone spur got aggravated. It -the pain, forced me to come in and get looked and have an MRI done. He said these things needed to be addressed ASAP and that I needed these things fixed not just for lifting but for quality of life and to not let this fester and become even worse. My age, my weight, the weights I have lifted for decades have defiantly all contributed to this.

We have our next meet in July. I will wait till after the meet to have my knee surgery. In case there are complications or the need for a longer recovery period or any what ifs that may pop up, I will wait till after their meet so I can coach my 5 Teammates competing and be able to help them to the best of my abilities as I am now and not be in worse condition after surgery and possibly be on crutches, in a brace, on pain meds, not fully recovered enough to be on my feet for 8+ hours or longer or all of the above. I can suck it up for a few more weeks and coach them through their meet and then I will get fixed up.

As for my training? Right now I will resort to being just a bench queen, getting jacked and tan!
