Block 8, Wave 2 - DL

I felt a bit not quite recovered yesterday, but figured I would be good to go by today.  False.  For whatever reason, I felt like warm, wet dookie sliding down a filthy gas station crapper for the duration of training today.  The culmination of training was laying on my platform and wondering if I was going to yak - not from exertion, just from general malaise.  That was when I decided to call an early halt to the march for today.

Box Jumps

5xBW to 36"

5xBW to 37.5"

5xBW to 39"

Deadlift

10x45

5x135

5x245

3x335

1x385

3x425

3x490

3x550

I was pulling up too much and not back enough on my first rep, but as you can see, I corrected my body position about halfway up my shins.  On a very positive note though, I expanded my dynamic warmup today and I had no helicoptering on any sets of DL.  While I can't say for certain the two are related, I'm going to stick with the changes and evaluate further.

Sumo DL Block Pulls (11" pick)

8x245

3x8x295

Working on my sumo technique to improve hip mobility, back tightness, and glute activation.  I'm starting high on these since going straight to the floor and trying to do more than about 135 feels muy malo in my hips and knees in terms of stabilizing in what is, for me, a very foreign position since sumo isn't allowed in strongman competitions.

Side Lying Leg Raises

2x20ea x BW

This was where I started to contemplate laughing at the ground while I was staring at the ceiling.  Time to stop for today.
