Lily's mom's party was yesterday and it was fantastic! Her dad organized a food truck for the eats and it was a great idea. But the best part of the party was seeing Lily smile as she got to celebrate with her mom, dad and see people she had not seen in awhile. Everyone there was really nice and I had some great conversions. Lily's parents are extremely nice and welcoming and I couldn't possibly say enough good things about them. I am not close with my family at all. Many reasons contribute to this and it's been difficult for me to understand the "family" relationship and bond so many people seem to have. That is no longer the case. This family is amazing and they make me feel like one of them.
SO...today we kinda trained...kinda...meaning we walked about 50 blocks through Central Park and NYC...it took about 2 hours and all I wanted to do was sit down and take a nap. 50 blocks...who does that. Anyway the destination was an "escape the room" challenge and it was worth the walk. Add to that the fancy dinner on the 29th floor of a NYC building and the night was complete. Once again I find myself without words to describe how Lily and her parents make me feel so welcome and loved.
