Catchy title right? You might be asking yourself what the hell it means. Operation Gothic Serpent was the month long operation in Somalia in 1993 to catch Mohamed Farrah Aidid. Most people know it as the operation that lead up to "Black Hawk Down".

This October 3rd is the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu, so this past weekend, fellow EliteFTS teammate Jenn Petrosino  and I participated in the GoRuck light challenge in Columbus. If I'm being honest, I didn't really research it all that much and thought it was going to be like a 5K... line up at the start, ruck a quick 10 miles, and finish at my own pace. I was wrong.

I guess the point of a lot of these Go Ruck challenges is to let people feel what it's like to go through a little bit of military training. At first, I wasn't really feeling it, but as we got into it, it made me genuinely miss being back in training. I also got to meet a few really cool, like minded people who live around the area, so all in all, I was grateful for the experience.

Besides that, I did some of my final heavy work before my contest in 2 weeks. Below is a 610lb yoke for 4 short runs to work on picks and foot speed, and under that is my last deadlift session with 455lbs for 10 reps. Now it's time to just hit some more technical stuff and then rest up!
