I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1767 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. Next up is an off-season and picking a meet.
My immediate plans are to do exactly nothing! I won't train at all this week. Headed out to visit family for the holiday weekend in a few hours, the extent of my exercising will be some hiking and maybe kayaking this weekend if the weather works out. I won't be in the gym this week.
Probably won't train much next week either. I'll be traveling for business to Tijuana, Mexico the first half of next week and won't worry much about finding a place to train. We stay in San Diego, so I do have options but honestly I don't really care to lift while I'm out there. I'd rather explore San Diego during my down time and focus on preparing for the meetings in Mexico.
The week of July 15th I'll start training some again, starting with a couple easy weeks to get ready for an off-season. My body feels really good actually, but I want to rest for a bit and not push too hard. It all comes back fast so I would rather let myself heal completely before getting back to it. I'll look for a meet in December of this year, likely to be another USPA meet, probably the one at Columbus Lifting Company in mid-December. For now, I'm going to enjoy some traveling, relax my diet just a touch and not worry about being locked in.
