Hey there,
How's it going? Welcome to my first Elitefts training log. Sit down, stay a while. I'm Zach Gallmann: columnist, strongman, and according to my grandma, the most handsome guy to come out of my high school.
It's been 2 years, give or take a month, since I've competed in strongman last. A lot has changed since then. New job, new weight class, McDonald's serves breakfast all day. I'm not really sure if that last one happened that recently, but it helps to signify the passage of time.
Anyway, I'm now getting ready to compete in my first ever strongman competition as a light weight. Floating around 220lbs, this will be a new dynamic for me, but I'm excited to get after it.
I'll be competing at Ohio's Strongest Man on October 13th in Boardman, OH.
Currently, I'm sitting at 3 weeks out, so this week is my last heavy week. Last night's training consisted of the following:
Deadlift: worked up to a single at 600
Trap Bar Deadlifts- 585x3x5
Farmer's Carry: 270/hand for 35ftx3 runs
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned.
