So today is Valentine’s Day training! In the past we have done some fun, funny and weird things on this training day. This year it was a non-event but we did talk about years past….about using heart shaped boxes of chocolates as bench boards, Wendler hanging himself with a chain (I’m just glad his foot didn’t slip) and random red EliteFTS t-shirts worn in the holiday spirit. So we did have some good laughs on this St. Valentines day. As for training it went pretty good too. Here is what I did…

 

Warm-ups

Stationary bike (3-minutes), band pull aparts, Indian club swings, hip rotations

 

Box squats-about 1” above parallel

Bar for a few

135 for 2 sets of 5 reps

225 for 5 reps

315 for 3 reps

Put on Ace briefs

405 for 3 reps

495 for 3 reps

585 for 2 reps

Put box to about 3” high

675 for a single

 

Deads against heavy bands

135 for 3 reps

225 for 3 reps

 

Back attack

2 plates for 3 sets of 15 reps

 

Hip rotations

2 sets of 20 rotations per leg

 

Today felt great! All my squats were high but they moved well and I am firing evenly with both legs. The bar is also even when I rerack it! Making progress!
