I decided today to free squat...no box just regular ole squats. I guess there is much debate on free squats verses box squats and the only reasons I think this debate exists are ignorance and arrogance. Both free squats and box squats are beneficial and both can help improve strength when the issue with the squat is one that is addressed by either movement. Simple as that. I haven't free squatted any real amount of weight since my meet last December. My heavy squat work has all been done to boxes of various heights. The result for me...a solid free squat that moved quickly through the entire movement...
