Lily and I arrived at the compound today a little early because she has decided to become a geared lifter and we had to pick out a squat suit for her. We chose the single ply METAL IPF KING SQUATTER V-TYPE. This should make for a great first squat suit and we are both excited to see what she can do in the geared division.
As for myself I was given the opportunity to test out a prototype Metal brief that I believe will be called the Metal M short. It's single ply with short, almost non existent, legs.
As for training it broke down like this...
Warm-ups
hip rotations, rolling
box squats - box height 1.5 inches above parallel
Worked up to 315 and put on the prototype briefs
405 for 2 sets of 3 reps
AND that was all we had time for. We took a little too long getting Lily's suit and BS-ing in the office before we got to training. I'll share some info and video about the briefs once I get a few training sessions in them. Based on the 6 reps I took today they provide nice support on the hips without pulling the knees in.
I had Lily squat to the same box with straps down stopping her at 145. She moved it super easy and had a great first experience in a squat suit. Training today was fun and motivational. We are together all the time, except for when I'm at work, and for the first time in my life I have found the person I love being with all the time. I'm really lucky to have her in my life and life is wonderful.
