Block 11, Wave 2 - Snatch

I should have had plenty of time to train today, but I ended up deciding to train at home in my garage instead of at Iron Strong and this caused me to mistime when I needed to leave for class in my head.  So I ended up just doing my snatch and clean work for today without any accessory lifts, which was just fine since timing my rest breaks made it feel very much like conditioning.

Seated Box Jumps

3x3xBW to 30"

Easy, but focusing on speed and technique rather than farting my way through the motions made this good for today.

Snatch

complex x 45

3x95

2x135

5x2x170

I did a good job of keeping my feet on the ground longer and getting more hip extension (almost dumped the bar behind me a couple times), but had to remind myself that I needed more shrug and more cowbell.  Only 60 sec rest between sets here.

Hang Power Cleans (above knee)

5x45

3x135

5x5x185

Woof.  I stayed at this weight because I was starting to short myself on hip drive and I was running out of shrugs to give.  I did do a good job of keeping a full grip on the bar, but sets of 5 here with 90 sec rest was mucho cardio.

Now that the garage gym has a real live WL bar thanks to the generosity of an OG, I think it's time to step up my bumper plate game from the world's worst bumpers.  If I have my druthers I'll snag some kilo plates, because my lack of math skills often ends up in accidental PRs, but they are much harder to come by around here so it'll depend what becomes available and what I can afford.
