The old man still has it!
But I'm paying for it today. It's Monday and I feel like i competed in two meets this weekend.
In an attempt to keep the egos in check (all but mine) at the barn. I decided to squat what everyone else was squatting in gear. But I was going to do it raw (kinda)
Lesson 1: My shoulders suck more than I remember. I actually had a hard time getting my hands on the bar period.
Lesson 2: Sitting at a desk for a couple months and then trying to squat is not the greatest idea. My hips were tighter than my briefs. I guess that's not saying very much
Lesson 3: I love squatting. I mean really love squatting. Doing the first couple sets RawRaw, caused so much pain that I wanted to throw up. But, I still had a smile on my face right after.
Lesson 4: I should probably wear knee wraps all day everyday. Taking the bar RawRaw was way more pain than someone should be in while they squat the bar. I added knee wraps after one plate.
Squats:
Bar x 5 x 2
145 x 5
195 x 3 added knee wraps
235 x 3
285 x 3
325 x 3
375 x 2
435 x 2 x 3
All in all it was great to be under the bar again. We had lifters ranging from 11 years old to people in their 50's
