I squat ME every other week, usually leaving a DE Squat on those odd weeks. For this short training cycle I have changed things up a little bit. When you get to max weight, and in full gear you have to be ready for anything, prepared is a better word. For whatever reason you might be restricted as far as sitting back, or you might start off slow and force yourself to spend way more time under tension than you are used to. These things happen to me on meet day and I wanted to throw in some training days that made me uncomfortable and unstable. Two weeks ago I did the duplex squats and last night I did Giant Cambered Bar squats. Now I have done plenty of squats with the GCB, but I don't think I have ever gone over 5 plates. Last night I went to 655lbs and that is a whole new worlds when 655lbs is swaying you back and forth and you have to stay tight or crash. Very good stuff! I had to squat a lot slower and a lot tighter. Hopefully this will carry over.
