Event Training @ Brute Strength Gym

I'm working on getting caught up on my logs now that I actually have some free time, but my internet down here in VA Beach is a piece of shit so it's massively frustrating most of the time.  As such, I'm going to post my current training as I continue to catch up to get back up to date.  In a nutshell, I'm living in Virginia Beach until mid-December and training at the one and only BRUTE STRENGTH GYM, which is both amazingly awesome to be an actual member for the first time instead of just a visiting meathead and also convenient since it is literally a 2 minute drive from the hospital I'm working at for my clinical affiliation for school.

I worked both days this past weekend so sadly was at work during the entirety of the business hours of Brute, but I had today (Monday) off so I hit up my last event day before competing.  I'm unable to do MD Strongest this year due to travel logistics, but thankfully there is a strongman comp in Richmond this weekend that I can hit up as a day trip so I'll be doing the 3rd Annual Beer City Brawl at CrossFit Full Circle on Saturday.  My friend and former training partner Mike Inman will be making the trip down from Philly as well plus a bunch of guys and girls from Brute are competing so I'm sure a good time will be had by all.

Log C&J (clean once)

complex x 90

complex x 140

3x190

1x230

1x250

1x270

1x280

1x290

1x300

Log cleans are finally getting back to normal for me thanks to that annoying right biceps injury I had being mostly back to full function.  I still have no idea what I did since there was no bruising or loss of range of motion or even real pain, just felt like I had DOMS whenever I would do curls or heavier rows and pulldowns/ups.  Whatever it was, it took way longer to heal than I thought, but I was curling 50s last week with no pain so I take that as a sign that it's mostly back in business.  Cleaning the log has been a pain in the dick because of this, but 300 went up no problem so I'm good to go.

Sled Drag/Tire Flip Medley

40' x prowler + 180/4 flips x 700

40' x prowler + 270/4 flips x 700

2x{40' x prowler + 360/3 flips x 700}

This was as heavy as I could go on the prowler on rubber flooring without cleaning off my shoes so keep from slipping and that seemed like too much to get into today.  Suffice to say the sled drag felt heavy and my tire flipping is total crap right now.

Stone Shouldering (tackyless of course, alternating shoulders)

4x225

2x2x252

My forearm sweat was preventing me from doing longer sets so I called it here for today.  I might actually consider looking into stone sleeves to prevent this problem in the future.  I am still a firm believer in tape and tacky for comps and heavi(er) loads though.
