I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1769 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. I'll be lifting at an APF meet in Chicago this December to wrap up the year.

1. Last warm up - 365 x 2 x 2

2. Opener - 405 x 2 x 2

3. Close Grip Bench - Monster band, neutral grip - 225 x 4 x 8

4. Incline Dumbbell Bench - 60 x 2 x 20

5. Rope Pressdown - I don't know what to call how I did this. I did 1 rep, then 6 count rest, then 2 reps and 6 count rest.. up to 11 reps.

6. Banded Hammer Curl - Monster Band - 21 style for 4 sets

Coaching

I really enjoyed training with this group on Sunday. One of the guys was benching in a shirt, his second time in it I think. I love coaching people in bench shirts. Most people way over complicate it and make it out to be really hard, I think there are just 3 things you have to get correct and its pretty easy.

Get the bar out really far on the hand out. Come down as fast as you can under control. Don't search for the touch- bring your body up and let the bar come down. Get those things right and I think you are most of the way there. It was a lot of fun for me to work with Chuck and help him get those things right!
