Not exactly the come back I was looking for.

It's been about 8 weeks since I've been lifting weights with a purpose in a gym. Side Note: Fuck March 2016.

I was pretty excited to get back into the swing of things at the Barnyard Barbell.

We had a huge crew out. 11 people including me. 12 with Odin. No one is use to training in a large group. And it showed.

I planned on doing form cambered bar front squats in the rack while everyone else was hitting heavy squats in the Monolift (those links are the gear that we use).

Front Squats

None.

I didn't get a set in.

Everyone was waiting for a decision to be made and an order to be made. I had to call out who was up, what their rack height was and what weight they would be taking. I love coaching, so it was still really fun to see the progress of everyone. It's great to help people find that "click" that everything makes sense to them. This meet will be very big for some of our lifters. They have made great strides and lots of changes for this. I can't wait!

That being said, I'm not sure if I will be able to et physically ready for this meet. When I was at Westside (I know it wasn't that long, but it still changed my life) we were always about 2 weeks out from a meet. Meaning that we could make a few tweaks and we would be ready to compete in a full meet the next weekend. I do not feel like that right now. I need some time to get back in that condition to be a fucking savage. I'm not a savage right now.

This weekend as a whole was fantastic!! We got to see Paul V and Jay Nera again and strategize on the Podcast return. We will be back soon with another Episode of PowerNorth with Jay Nera!

And on the Odin end of life, he and I had a lot of interaction. The most I have ever had with him. He was responding to his name, saying "Hi" and "Bye" to people as they were coming and going.

He will be 3 on Wednesday this week. It's crazy how time flies.
