Background: I work at OSU as a graduate teaching associate and lift at Ludus Magnus. I am a raw lifter who competes in the 105lb weight classes, and am currently prepping for my next meet (when grad school finally gives me a weekend off) . Currently, I am in the process of trying to accomplish my lofty lifting goals, survive graduate school, and teach undergraduates about what I really love, TRAINING..

Performance Enhancement?
In training that was a pretty good day for me. Last night, Shawn and I were experimenting to see if you could use the transcranial stimulator (essentially something that shocks your head to make your muscle twitch) during an action like a squat. Well, I told him to crank it to max and started squaring while getting shocked from the top of my head (note: don't try this at home). Each time I squatted my weak muscles did an spasm when the shock was delivered (and things like my knee came in and then shot back out). No clue what it means, but I get the feeling there is a performance enhancement effect of shocking your brain and squatting 12 hours later!
Note: do not try at home!
