Headed to the compound for some lower work. The weight I have gained this year so far has honestly kinda surprised me. Maybe it’s my age and my metabolism is slowing down and just maybe I’ll be able to tap into some of that “old man strength” but I’m kinda surprised no less. That being said I have put a good amount of size on my legs and upper body but my ass, glute, is lagging and this is shifting my squat to my quads a bit. Not good for a sumo stance geared powerlifter so I will be focusing on adding some ass and improving my strength there in the weeks to come. As for today….
Warm-ups
Stationary bike, rumble rolling, band pull aparts, hang (60 seconds)
Wall squats with bamboo bar
5 sets of 3 reps
Hack squats
Worked up to 5 plates per side doing sets of 10 reps
Drop set of 10 reps per down to the sled removing one plate per side every 10 reps
Back attack
Worked up to 5 plates doing sets of 10 reps
Standing cable crunches
50 for 5 sets of 20 reps
Adductor / abductor
100 for 30 reps of each
