I think the general mentality in powerlifing is that post injury and surgery most of us think that we don't need PT, we can do it ourselves and we know whats best for us. I've actually thought that myself and up until this most recent injury/surgery (left tricep tendon torn and repaired) I thought and did the same. This time my surgeon made me commit to PT when he agreed to do the surgery and I'm glad he did. It has been a tremendous help. While I am not even close to being at the strength level I was yet I am confident that I will be one day. Everyday life is like nothing ever happened and I don't even think about it except when its time to train. ROM is 100% and I feel good.

Today we did something I've never seen and something I never would have thought of. I'll do my best to explain it.

The starting position for the excerise was like a push up except I was on my elbows instead of my hands. From there I would push up one side to the locked position and then the other. In other words it was the lockout 1/2 of a push-up but it was only one side at a time. This description will probably only made sense to someone who has done them or seen them done but that is the best I can do. I'll see if I can make a video of it one of these day so it makes more sense. Anyway they were very challenging and required a bit more coordination than I was prepared for. We did a couple sets of 10 and I was exhausted.
