*2 Weeks Out from RPS Lexen Spring Fling*
Today was my last heavy squat workout before the meet. I worked up to my last warmup in full gear, then did speed pulls in my deadlift suit vs heavy band tension. The biggest thing I've been working on for my squat has been staying upright and keeping my upper back and abs tight. My legs have gotten a lot stronger, and the difference between a sub-par meet and hitting a big squat PR is going to be keeping my back in the right position as I sit back. I got a little forward on a few of my warmups today, but Matt Smith was a big help and kept cueing me to drive my head back harder, and it improved as the sets went on. I finished with an easy 665, after working to get my hips under the bar better at setup and driving my head back more. My best meet squat is 716, and I'm excited to see what I'm able to do at the meet. I pulled 655 (10 lb training PR) about 8 weeks ago pretty easy, and have been hammering the speed pulls with a good amount of band tension. Now it's time to rest and focus as I do the last few light workouts before the competition. Last heavy bench is tomorrow..
