Krampusnacht training!  Too bad I can't go see the new Krampus movie and hoist some refreshing dutch beverages tonight due to impending finals of my first semester of PT school.  Training was a little lighter today as the focus was more energy systems work than max strength.  I even tried atlas stones at the end to see how my elbows handled it since they have been feeling noticeably better the last couple weeks and besides some very mild discomfort there were no problems.  Overall solid training day preceding studying the anatomy of the foot in excruciating detail.

Log C&J (clean each rep)

complex x 85

complex x 135

complex x 185

2x8x225 - Both sets were done with a 60" time limit.  The first set I did my reps faster, but got gassed and had to rest, which indicates decreased muscular endurance for me because when I'm training for this in a comp I can go for a minute straight without breaks on lighter weights.  I also had enough time at the end to probably get a 9th rep, but my technique was getting sloppy enough that it was not worth it today.  The second set I was more consistent and did not have to take any breaks, but I went at a slower pace and ended up with the same number of reps.

Farmer's Walk (100' with turn @ 50')

100' x 110

100' x 200

100' x 250 - About the same time as last time I did this back in September.

100' x 290 - No drops, but about 2 sec slower than last time  I did this weight and distance so I stopped here.  I could feel my pace was off on this run and since I have not done longer distance farmer's with a turn in a couple months, today was testing to see where I am now in relation to where I was before I dropped farmer's to specify for yoke for MD Strongest.  Overall not too bad, though I had obviously hoped for less decline.

Farmer's Hold

50" x 290 - Everyone else was doing it to see where they were for a contest in April so I figured I would jump in and hit this as well.

Stone Shouldering

3x4x200 - Alternating left and right shoulders each rep.  As I mentioned before, my left distal bicep tendon and right common flexor tendon are both feeling better and doing tackyless stones, especially smaller diameter (18" vs. 20" or larger) has been something that I have been avoiding the last few months due to pain and risk of either worsening my elbows or causing a new injury.  So based on that, being able to do this today, though it was very easy, was great to have little to no pain.

Conditioning Medley

4 runs of a standing arm over arm prowler drag for 50' with a 180 lb keg on my prowler, unload the keg, low handle prowler push back for 50' with the empty prowler, then run back 50', pick up the keg, and carry back to load onto the prowler for the next guy.  This is also something that would be significantly likely to cause increased elbow pain and that I was able to do with virtually no awareness of any symptoms.

Strong work all around from Marc, Ryan, and Bill.  Gregg was out of town with his family and Inman was at a conference so I'll have to resurrect this conditioning medley for them next time both are in attendance as it was definitely a keeper.
