Training this morning was a good start to what is going to be a weekend filled with little besides studying for exercise physiology. Sadly, this is not due to my lack of knowledge, but rather the testing style of the instructor. No point in complaining though as there are 30 other people in the same boat as myself. I kept everything light today to focus more on speed and endurance, but this ended up taking more out of me than I had expected.
Axle C&J (clean once)
complex x 70
complex x 120
complex x 160
4x190
2x14x220 - Fatigue in my shoulder stabilizers was the primary factor holding me back from more reps here, especially on the second set.
Farmer's Walk (turn @ 50')
100' x 110
100' x 200
2x100' x 220 - Going lighter let me focus on the turn more and I managed to pull off a rarely seen perfect turn on the first run, but my second run was actually faster (even with a poorer turn) due to better acceleration.
Stone Over Bar (48")
3x200
3x240
2x280
2x4x300 - I added tacky for these sets to take some stress off my biceps/elbows.
First off, my 240 and 280 stones are in wretched shape and I need to re-coat them with spray on rubber ASAP. The 240 is a dust bowl and the 280 is just slippery as hell. Secondly, while the work sets with 300 were easy, I did not feel particularly explosive so I need to work on generating more power from the lap position, which I'll start next week.
