The family took a trip to New York for spring break and I can't remember ever in my life walking as much as we did that week . We went to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Empire State Building, Bronx Zoo, Brooklyn Bridge, Trump Tower, Cake Boss bakery, the bull on wall street, etc. FFS my feet hurt so damn bad. The thing that made me the most uncomfortable was the subway. There's no personal space and it was driving me nuts. It doesn't bother New Yorkers because they have been around that their whole life, but not claustrophobic Jo. At one point my back was against the train doors and a dude was standing 2 inches in front of me because the train was so full. I had to close my eyes and think happy thoughts as my wife rubbed my back until we got to our stop and got off the train. Once we got back I kind of missed the trains because I didn't have to drive and the drivers in Florida are shit.

We had a great time together though. We haven't had a family trip in too many years to count and we got to do this together before my daughter goes off to college in June. I'll cherish the time we spent together and having the experiences we did especially seeing their faces light up at some of the sights we got to see. They were all oddly excited to see a giant rat run along the rails in the subway.

I don't ever plan to go back if at all possible, but my wife loves it so my chances of achieving that goal are minimal.

We took 101,579+ steps and climbed 121+ stairs.
