I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1767 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. I'm looking to compete in either November or December to wrap up the year.

The primary goal of my second bench day is repetition effort and training another pressing movement while being cautious with overworking my upper body. For me, the incline press has always created good carry over and doesn't beat me up. Win-win.

The other part of today was to get a feel for how a little rest and massage/chiropractic had helped my pec. The verdict: it felt sore. Not injured, but sore, like a body part does after getting really deep tissue massage. No pinching/pulling sensation like when the strain is still healing. So that's good! But, I decided that if it is still sore at all on Wednesday I'm going to bail on that session and postpone competing until December.
