Off Season training is very very important with what we do at Team Nebobarbell. Off Season training is not lay back and not do shit training. Our off season training is hard, tough, grueling and has purpose. During these several weeks we focus on weak areas. Body parts that need growth and size. Rehabbing to help with recovery. Dialing in our nutrition better and giving us a mental and physical break from the 3 big lifts.
Many of my Teammates when they were new to what we did and do just could not be convinced that not doing the 3 big lifts for several weeks was not going to make them weaker but actually make them stronger. As time went on each of them got on board better instead of having defiance in what was new and strange to them. Now they understand the value of what we do and why were are doing it.
What we do is not some kind of secret formula, movements or knee sleeveless, beltless, shirtless, squat shoeless bs. What we do is actually just called hard work, training our asses off and being committed to the goals we have set out for. Another big thing for us at our gym is that there is one leader, one voice and one Coach. I call all the numbers, attempts, projections and so forth. We all feel that is what is best for our Team and our lifters individually as well. No internet trainers, no bs training template, no so called wanna be nobody trying to call shots. Only me and this works for us and has for 18 years.
But for me at the end of the day the most important thing we have is the environment we train in, the support we give one another, the comrade we have and being able to rely and know your training partners will be there to spot, load, help and bust ass that day with you....
Today I pushed a little more on my upper body (pec area primarily) and so far so good....
