Today everyone got in their deadlift openers.

Everyone did great. The excitement and anticipation for the meet could be felt through out the gym today. For deadlift openers we just hit our openers, do a few accessories and that's it. No reason to waste energy pulling a second attempt (which is always a PR lift for us) and something worse happening, like getting injured or missing an attempt.

I like to keep things simple. My lifters only concern is to lift the weight called. My job is to build confidence with their lifts through out their training cycle, call realistic projections, not allow any one to miss lift during their training cycle and not worry about trivial things. I call every weight to be lifted for every lift through out their training cycle and at the meet. This way they are not concentrating on the weight (if they knew what 2nd and 3rd attempts were) and to worry themselves over it. They must trust me, trust their training, our process and believe in themselves.

We are ready to hit it this weekend. To hit big numbers, smash PR's, meet new lifters, enjoy time with our family and friends and to most importantly have fun!

Again I only did some very light training today and finished crunching numbers and attempts.
