I came home from work Friday night to find the apartment decorated for my birthday and Lily baking me a birthday cake. She was preparing a carrot cake from scratch...my favorite cake. She really overwhelmed me and I was taken back by this. She continuously outdoes herself and exceeds my expectations, this is not easy to do, and I am very grateful for the relationship we share.

We headed to EliteFTS a little late on Saturday morning. A special prepared breakfast was worth being a little slow getting there. Todd wasn't feeling well, the boys were doing holiday things and weren't going to be there anyway. Training broke down like this...

 

Warm-ups

Hip rotations, Indian club swings

 

Squats - 1-1/2" high box - straight bar

Worked up doing sets of 3 to 315

put on Metal Pro Briefs 

405 for 3 reps

505 for 4 sets of 3 reps

 

Deadlifts -  raw straight weight from 2" mats

worked up doing sets of 5 to 335 for 3 sets of 5 reps

 

Hypers against Pro Light Band

3 sets of 20 paused reps

 

Things felt good today and the weights moved well. My hips were a little tight for the pulls put loosened up after a few sets. I have eliminated the shifting in my squat and today is 17 weeks out from my next meet.
