I received a promotion at work and have moved to manager of our transportation department. This was basically the next step in the ladder moving up in the company. With the promotion will come some flexibility in the longer term but right now it means a lot of additional work getting the department in order. This will affect my training to a degree and will require a lot of extra work hours. I will still be competing in August but may have to revise my plan. Overall it is a good thing for me professionally and will be for me personally as well. Before accepting the position Lily and I had several conversations about the added demands it will put on my time and she fully supported the decision to take the job. Life is good.
