Ego

Powerlifting and egos are intertwined in some kind of sick union that could only be compared to something incestual out of Oedipus. If you don't know what that is, just google it. So many athletes, including myself, get wrapped up into how much value others place on us and how relevant we seem to be. A centralized theme of this fact is social media, and doing shit for likes. SImphy uploading training videos can get a person high, or in an elevated spirit, because people like it and comment on it with affirmation.

I'm not necessarilly saying that that's a bad thing, because I have a few thousand uploads on my IG, and I'm writing a fucking blog about it right now, but when we stop COMPETING and seeking betterment of ourselves, that's where the problem lies.

I've had high level powerlifters get pissed at me just because I express a simple opinion to them. I've had people BLOCK me just because I question a thing they are doing, in a seemingly non aggressive manner. I SEE athletes CONSTANTLY berate people for asking ismple questions on their page. The questions may have been asked before, or seem obvious, but God damn they are from different people! Are you going to rip a guys head off on the street if he asks you what time it is? Just because you have a watch (training experience) and he doesn't, doesn;t mean you are any better than him.

And believe me, there are some dumb motherfuckers out there and they come up with some ridiculous shit. Despite that fact, they might not wanna be so dumb one day and you could help them out. And if they STAY dumb, then just stop responing! It's moving your god damn thumbs, it's not writing a fucking novel. We get so wrapped up in our own value, we forget the value of others.

Don't forget we are all equal. Don't forget that people on the internet do indeed valeu your opinion, but would just as easily cast you aside if you stopped posting ANYTHING for 30 days. We live in a fickle society, but finding meaning is what you NEED to do. Just don't think that you mean everything, to everyone else.
