I chose to do a bunch of odd-numbered reps as a training suggestion because...

I'm not sure if it's the power of suggestion or that "I'm that good", but the high rep number and the weird rep were perfect as I planned.

As the participant passed 30 reps the thought was, "This isn't so bad". Then when we got to the five rep range, it became, "rut-roh, I might not make it". Which was within the grasp so everyone dug down and completed the set.

Because the reps were so large, the weight had to be a bit lower, so when it got to the "dig in" stage, it really could be done, and the technique kept in order.

Regardless, it was a lot of reps and a lot of people today had to find that inner strength, which I always like to test the will of people!

Clean the gym day! The one thing I have always maintained is a spotless gym. When I was at the old space and shared it, I had no control over how the crowd acted or abused it with antics like not putting the weights back in their rightful place, or the misuse of chalk, which would end up on the floor in piles and dusting. But in my new gym, NO ONE gets away with not caring for it and policing their messes. These folks are pretty "on it", so I will give them a safe and clean place to enjoy and train.
