Monster Garage Gym/Maroscher Coaching Log: By MGG owner, 2-Time WPC World Powerlifting Champion, Eric Maroscher.
This installment of the Monster Garage Gym/Maroscher Coaching Log features WPC World Powerlifting Champion and 1,000LB squatter, Steve Brock. If you have been following the MGG logs, you know that Steve is now several weeks into his training for the APF Nationals. If you are new to our logs, this National meet is important to Steve as is looking for his 2015 to surpass his fruitful 2014 powerlifting season. Steve, like myself, was so very fortunate to have been coached by living legend, Ernie Frantz. Steve met Ernie in 1990, so he has been in the weight game a good long time and would like nothing more to have another world title. *Photo: MGG owner, Frantz Disciple, Eric Maroscher (left), The Godfather of Powerlifting, Ernie Frantz (center), WPC World Powerlifting Champion and Frantz Disciple, Steve Brock (right).

Training on this date focused on RAW 12” (that is a pretty low box) box squats. Following that, MGG’s Mike Strom and Steve’s programming sadist, had Steve follow up his squatting with Dimmel deadlifts, ab work, as well as the reverse hyper work.

The point of this log is to let you see what a lower RAW box squat session looks like as most box squats are done on a 14 or 15” box. Consider adding low RAW box squats to your training and see, after giving them some time, if they are of benefit to you. You might be surprised how they can complement your more standard box squat.

As always, thank you for following the Monster Garage Gym/Maroscher coaching log. We hope you found this log and our other prior logs of benefit to you. Ever Onward, Eric Maroscher.
The following is Steve’s complete log from this training session:
12 Inch Raw Box Squats
605x1 miss
4 sets of Dimmel DL
4 sets Ab Pull Downs
4 sets Reverse Hyper
