This week of training was short due to Christian's move up to Indiana. (You can find his blog's complete with videos of the move over here.... there may or may not be evidence of me passed out during the drive.)
I flew down the Memphis on Thursday on a one-way ticket. We spent Thursday and Friday visiting some folks for the last time, running some errands and packing up the U-haul. Thankfully he didn't have too much stuff so we got it all done in a little over 3 hours. Except that it was HOT AS BALLS in Memphis with literally ZERO air flow.
After packing the truck, we did a test run putting his car on the car trailer. You see, we weren't sure how well his geeked-out lower rider would fit on it. It was a VERY close fit, but he got it.
We ended our time in Memphis having dinner Friday night with our two dear friends Yvonna and Michael. Simply amazing food and company.
Saturday we got up and moving right away and made the sloooooow drive north. Not gonna lie.... it was boring. Not because of him or us, but because there is literally nothing to look at and we were driving 60mph. About half way in, we saw some other U-hauls with car trailers who were going 70+, so we figured, why not?
We arrived at 5:30, unpacked his stuff by 8:00 and crashed. Long full day, but totally worth it to have Sunday to chill. And we did.
Here's what went down for my two days of training that week, which was my 2 main heavy days:
Monday
A. Deficit deadlift - 3x3 @ 305
B. Wide stance double pause squat 3x8 @ 155
(I really enjoyed this. Pause in the hole, then pause half way up. The point of these was to keep my glutes engaged the entire time.)
C. Hamstring curls 3x12
Wednesday
A. Incline press - 3x3 @ 145
B. DB flat bench - 3x12 @ 55's
C. Low row 4x10
D. Shoulder and tricep accessories
