There's an ongoing battle in my gym about loading and unloading the Reverse Hyper. I understand those that stack a shit load of 45s on the swinging arm and then get in and let it swing as if it's one on the playground. There is a purpose for using it that way, but it's only ONE of the many ways to incorporate this piece of equipment.

My Teams and I use it in other ways, like slowly lifting the weight and pausing upon the full extension for a three count or better. Another way to use the Reverse Hyper is to get a load of weight and "hit the breaks and change direction" when it's going forward. Yet another way to use it is to do single-leg work.

All of these other methods require much less weight than what is left on it for the almighty swinging method and bumping the posts so hard that the machine itself rocks and twists.

So much to my chagrin, like all the other pieces of weight load equipment in my gym, when I open the doors and see a shit ton of weight left on the machine my agitation rate increases.

I call it "flushing the toilet". Really! Who likes to walk into the bathroom and see a turd left in the bowl. Not cool! Same thing with unloaded bars and equipment.
