We all think we are working hard. We all think we are pushing our limits. But the reality of it is, NO YOU'RE NOT!

Truth is we pull back on the throttle when we start to feel that discomfort. That level of PAIN that tells us to BACK OFF. That level is about 40%.

If we listen to what that inner voice is telling us, we will convince ourselves that we did enough today, and there is always tomorrow!

Bullshit. I ride my bike in traffic, in California...I might not SEE tomorrow the way we drive here. I know for me, my final two words are going to be "Fuck it". There is NO tomorrow, so why not start pushing those limitations we set on ourselves back.

How about we create NEW habits?

I don't mean go from the current level of 40% right to 100...That is some Navy SEAL shit right there. I mean to say, push the limit by taking it up, say 5%.

Instead of backing off the mental throttle at 40 let's push it a bit harder and hit that 45%. From 45 we can now see a doable 50% and so on.

But sitting here at the 40% thinking we are all of that and a bag of chips is LYING to ourselves and setting the bar way too low.

When I design a workout, some people think..." Is he trying to kill us?" to which my answer is YES and NO.

Yes, I want you to see how much more capable you are. Yes, I see you where you are going to be. Yes, I want you to see where you can be. Yes, this training goes beyond the physical, and NO, if you don't get stronger (both physically and mentally) then YES, you will DIE! (sort of kidding)
