Two different people who missed yesterday's practices, came to me today and began to explain themselves as to "why" they weren't there.

Not the first time I have heard, "I hit the snooze button and fell back to sleep", but BOTH of these people told me the same thing within an hour of each other.

My response to their excuse was simple, "Don't hit the snooze button". If you even NEED an alarm clock the snooze button starts your day off on a losing trend. You're 0-1 without even getting your feet on the floor.

I haven't used an alarm to wake up now for 30 years. In my head, I say to myself, "I need to wake up at 0300 or 0330, and one minute before my eyes open, I roll to the floor to give thanks for today, go to the bathroom and scrape my fangs. My day is in full swing and time to attack with reckless abandon and feverish perversion.

You need to charge into your day with the desire to accomplish as much as you can with the time allotted. If you hit the snooze button the best thing will be an extra ten minutes that you lay there thinking about getting up. The worst thing that will happen is that you fall back into a deep slumber and two hours have slipped by and you are now in the "wish-a's", "should-a's" and "could-a's" Yea, right and if my Aunt had balls, she'd be my Uncle.

Snooze buttons are for Losers!
