The deep and meaningful conversations that go on in my gym are LEGENDARY!

The Quote of the day:

"The thing about money, you can exchange it for some really cool shit". ~ Mark Tuthill

I mean...think about that.  So simple and so eloquently stated.

I had an observation that needs to be shared with less experienced coaches.  "NEVER steal a person's Thunder" or also known, their CONFIDENCE!

You have the opportunity to make or break a person by the words you use, and the actions you implement.

I am TOUGH on people.  I'm a jerk at times when it comes to questions and answers (I like people to think for themselves and THEN straighten out answers to simplify.)  But I will NEVER slice a person to ribbons and leave them feeling inferior.

When I hear "oh...that kid or person will NEVER make it"  I go internally crazy.  Yes, it is the 1% that make it to the Professional level of sport.  But who the fuck are you to determine if that person is the 1% or not?

A person with aspirations of Pro Sport will walk by me, and I'll grab that kid by the calf or thigh and bark..."THAT is the leg of a Pro fullback if I ever felt one".  (From KIDS TO ADULT)

What did I do?  I believe in people before THEY do!  I know the probability is very low, but WHAT IF?

That is NOT for us to determine.

BUT...lose a person's confidence, and you have scarred that person for much more than YOUR opinion.

Encourage and Empower!  You'll turn out not only a better athlete, but a better person!
