Last Monday was a bench day at Apollon, and a shirt day (the best day).

I'm 3 months out from my next meet, and since my bodyweight has leveled off where it needs to be (about 194) It's time to start figuring out what gear I'll be wearing and get an idea of what my openers should be.

Today I used my 6 year old Ace, which I had outgrown a few years ago. It fits like a glove now, because although I weigh less than the last time I wore it, I've put on a little muscle in the upper body to fill it out.

Warmed up raw to 315, then put the shirt on with 405.

405 - 3 board

495 - 2 board

545 - 1 board

600 - touch.

600 is a pretty good gym lift for me at 12 weeks out, and I don't think I've ever done it at this bodyweight. I guess this is a good start.

After the benching, I moved on to parallel grip pull-ups. I did 4 sets of 12, which I could definitely not do when I was heavier.

finished with 4 sets of 15 on the dip machine and 4 sets of rope extensions.

Good start to the training cycle!
