Please excuse typo's, spelling errors and other mistakes. My grammar was bad to begin with and now that I can post these from my phone...well... it's not going to improve.

Saturday happens to be the same day Sheena works with my son Blaine so for the past 6 months this has been "back training" day. This allows me to keep an eye on what they are doing, as well as, what the other lifters in the gym are doing while still training. I suppose you can call this triple task training. It is also the one day a week I train with John Meadows.

I knew something was up when John walked in. I don't even have to say anything and he doesn't have anything about him that really stands out. I think after all this time now I have been able to detect some "micro-expression" he make that tells me all hell is about to break out.

To get a bearing on what we were going to do I had to ask. Normally I wouldn't but Sheena had something on the agenda for Blaine that I did have some concerns about. Nothing dangerous, but something that has been a trigger for him a few times in the past (he is autistic) BUT we are working on this so this was a good thing. I needed to know if I was going to end up bent over a bucket or passed out on the floor so I could let her know.

He told me we would be doing back and legs. I asked him if he saw the picture that was posted with my damn near passed out on the floor from Tuesday's session. Didn't matter. Back and Legs it was.

Kettlebell  Rows
* I am not a fan of KB's at all. Not a fan, never been a fan and never will be a fan. No real reason why. I did discover they were awesome for this movement. To do this we bent over to about 90 degrees (as you would with a Yakes row) and did rows with the KBs by pulling the elbows up and back keeping your knuckles forward. This allows you to get your elbows up and back move than you could with dumbbells or a barbell. It didn't take much to get the lats working.

* 4 warm up sets of 10
* 4 work sets of 10 - last two sets were down with one drop set of 10

Seated Rows
* Nothing special here. Just straight sets and reps.

* 3 warm up sets of 10
* 3 work sets of 10

Short Tsunami Bar with Comfort Grips
* We have been testing the short Tsunami Cable Bar and the Comfort Grips for a couple months now. These are really good products and we will have on the cart soon. I wasn't sure about the short bar at first but when combined with the grips it has a great feel to it. The flex of the bar and the grips allow you to get a better contraction of the lats than you normally could. In my case I am ALL for things that allow me to use less weight but work the muscles harder.

*2 warm up sets of 10
*4 work sets of 10

Here is a video of the movement.

Leg Press super Set Set with Standing Leg Curl
* I have no idea on the sets but do know all the reps were 10. If I was to guess we did 3-4 warm up sets working up and then 6-7 work sets. This wasn't as bad as it sounds but after killing my legs on Tuesday it wasn't real easy either.

Squat Machine From Hell ( SMFH)
* John picked this up used on ebay or somewhere. It is a throw back leg machine from the late 80's. Being in the equipment business it is not built that well so doing it after your legs are shot is a really good idea as I am not sure how much weight this can hold. I would be lying if I didn't say I already have idea on how to make this bigger, better, and badder and introduce it. BUT, I am not sure the demand will be there to make it all worth it. Either way I will have one made for our gym and go from there. This can be so much better... for now it will and does kick your ass. This video is John doing a few reps. We did 6 sets of 8-10 reps and called it a day.
