Do you know those people that say "I've trained nearly a 1000 people"?    Yes, you've seen them.  They are selling their "online program" or want you to pay them a ridiculous amount of money for their "Customized, Individual, Sports Specific Protocol".   To be clear, Dave Tate has been overheard saying that I might be the only Coach that has, in fact, trained "thousands".  Why?  Because I'm freak'n old!

Decades upon decades of people coming through my doors, loading up my bars, and sweating on my floors has given me enough experience to say certain things with authority.

You can come in to my gym with great "potential" which could be overall natural size, strength, or speed, but potential to me is simply unused talent.

How do we get to that talent?

Again, it's quite simple...Are you coachable?

Do you listen, learn, then apply or do you ignore the person with the experience and do it your own way?

To know and not to do is not to know!  Even when I explain something for the 100th time (or more if I have to, I'm patient) and that athlete pauses me with, "I know".  Ummm...no you don't know for if you did know you would do and since you don't do, I know you don't know!

Sometimes an athlete will take longer than others to get themselves disqualified for the very reason of being un-coachable.

I hate to do it, but I have and will!

I would rather a person go to a 24 hour fitness and do 37 movements of three sets of 15 reps on something curl related than to waste time and a lot more money in my program and gym.

Are you missing the next goal because you are too proud to take recommendations from someone that has helped others achieve what you are trying to do?

I've gone as far as to tell a few people ON LINE (FOR FREE) that I believe I can help them achieve the next goal they set by making a few adjustments to their technique, or approach.

But pride certainly gets in the way of Championships.

Have it (pride) but keep the humble wrappings and listen.  If it doesn't work for you, throw it out.  But at least listen!

Ahhhh...you can fix ignorance but you can't fix stupid!
