In my house, we don't procrastinate over anything.    If I say we are going to do something, you can bet your last dollar that it will get done.  I know that "your word" is the last thing that is binding for REAL.  Even if what you said is going to cost you time or money, IF you say you are going to do something...then DO IT!

My wife, son, and I have been in the process of registering him for Prep School in the fall.  Not that the public school is terrible here, but the opportunity to learn and play sport at a higher level in an international setting is just too good to pass up.  However, we never thought we could get the "numbers" to work.  It comes at a cost not only financially but also emotionally.

In the event that it didn't work out, we had to have a backup plan for his hockey-playing this season.  So we agreed to go to a meeting about a team being put together by one of his former coaches that we have the most respect for.

Just before the meeting Saturday evening, we get a notice that the school and us come to an agreement and that he will be attending it in the fall and the need to follow through with the local teams is now unnecessary.

Doesn't FUCKING matter!!!!  We told the local coach that we would be there and by golly we were!  We do what we say we are going to do.  Yes, we got informed, AND we paid our respects to the coach that taught my son so much about hockey AND LIFE!

It was not an easy commute...didn't matter

It was time-consuming...didn't matter

We could have sent an email...that matters

It matters because it was an easy way out!  NOT THE POINT.

Get in the habit of doing what you say you are going to do, and no one then can call you an unreliable liar!
