We all have moments in our lives when we feel like giving up. However, during these times of hardship, it can be helpful to remember the wisdom of those who have gone before us. Edgar A. Guest's famous poem "Don't Quit" has been a source of encouragement for many people over the years. This timeless piece of literature offers an uplifting message that can help us stay strong through difficult circumstances.

Life can be full of difficult moments and challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. But as we face these seemingly insurmountable obstacles, it is important to remember that these moments can also be an opportunity for growth and resilience. Mr. Guest's poem encourages us to persevere in the face of life's hard times and not give up. His words remind us to stay positive and to keep pushing forward.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit -
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he
Might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than it seems
To a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up when he
Might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And when you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst,
You must not quit.

Run*: Easy, and I mean REAL easy 3 miles

Cycle*: Commute Dangerous fog conditions this morning so I rode with great caution.

Daily

  1. Blast Strap Row:
  2. Pushups:
  3. Fat Grip Dead Hang
  4. Front Plank

Chin-ups: 50x2

Dips: 50x4

as fast as you can get it done. 22:56 was the fastest on the day.

It took me five and a half hours due to a bunch of butt-slapping and encouragement. But that's ok it was a lot of fun.

Cycle*: Commute Still pretty dangerous with the fog so I lit my bicycle up like the Starship Enterprise. Lots of flashing lights!!!
