I have a confession to make.

I am afraid.

Every time I step up to a heavy barbell, I am afraid the weight will crush me. Every time I step up to the platform, I am afraid I will miss a lift. Every time I go to sleep at night, I am afraid I have not done enough that day to reach my goals.

But more than anything else, I am afraid I will never live up to my true potential.

For a long time, I thought fear was bad. I thought it was something to run away from, not run towards. Then I learned I was wrong.

I learned that fear drives my success.

Fear motivates me, to be better than I was the day before. It motivates me to give 100% to each and every rep in the gym, to eat each and every meal. Fear motivates me to give my very best towards reaching my goals. And fear is why I will live up to my true potential.

Don’t run from your fear. Thank your fear, because your fear will make you great.
