To continue with my last post about training at the @elitefts S5 compound, I wanted to touch on some of the other investments that have gone into place.

A few weeks ago JP Carroll counted the number of bars we have in the gym. He came up with just over 180. I know I have added over ten more since then, so now we have close to 200 bars. I replace all power-lifting bars at least once a year. They don't need it, but I do not want lifters to get thrown off with a new-bar feel at the meet. At the same time, I want them to train with old bars because one never knows what one will get. To cut to the chase, there is over $1 million worth of training equipment in the gym

It is a gym built by lifters, with @elitefts equipment to the specs and quality that the strongest lifters can use and abuse, including competition specs, calibrated kilo, pound plates, and ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING needed for athletes to become their very best.

The lifters cost = Zero dollars. The commitment: becoming better and helping others to do the same. It is a SERIOUS commitment. If someone wants to be a part-time power-lifter, I am all for that. I LOVE that. It's how the sport continues to grow. There are 6-7 GREAT gyms in Columbus that would love your membership dues and provide excellent environments for those who want to dabble in the sport. Elitefts has a website with over 1 million pages of content to help you. I answer all of my DMs and more than 400 AMA questions per month here on IG. I WANT you to get better and have a 20-year proven track record validating this. However, do you value your training and the sport enough to train in a gym that has put a $1 million+ value on your ability and desire to improve?

You see, it's not only about the opportunity cost I discussed in my first post. We can now add $1 million worth of equipment costs and the thousands of dollars in recurring monthly costs to keep that section of the facility open.

This is simply one of the other things that pops in my head when people ask, "Hey can I pop in and train at S5 while I'm in town?"

There's still more to come… Stay tuned in for part 3.

You might be surprised at who I’m ok with.
