Knowing I had to do a Dynamic Squat and or some type of fast lower body the plan went like this:

Knee ups: 4x12 super set with

GHR: 4x12

Slide board "skaters" 4x25 super set with

McGill sit ups: 4x12

Dynamic Squat: 10x2x 50% or there about

Conventional Dead Lift: 10x1x50%

Sprints later on in the day: 10x50 yards

with 10 50 yard recovery lunges. getting back to Point A.

For those that have not experienced this..."ouch".  Pretty good OUCH!

I was sitting a stop light waiting for the green, when I looked to the left of me in the two left turn lanes and the drivers AND occupants where on Smart phones, no one talk to each other, or paying attention to the signal.  I then looked to the right, (I was in the third lane) and the SAME thing.  Two occupants in the car next to mine, one on the far right and both drivers were heads down.

I was about to mention my finding to my own bride and SHE TOO was face in the iPhone.

At this point, my rather happy self became depressed.  Depressed not for me, but for all the conversations missed.  The days gone by that are wasted on tiny screens with necks that will become forward heads so the future of posture will be one that people speak from between their pectorals.

I yearned for conversation or just bored silence.  (by the way, the bored silence sometimes is a Segway to GREAT ideas and new plans)

I snatched the phone from my wife, and told her..."no more".  That thing can only be used for emergency or for directions.  But no more text messages or browsing.

There was awkward silence for two traffic lights until I reached over and snapped on the radio.  Kenny Chesney sang "no shirt, no shoes (my favorite) no problems.  I can identify with THAT!

When my son in the back seat broke out in chorus, I felt strangely A LOT better.

"Where are we?" " Are we there yet?" "Can we stop for ice cream?" are questions EVERY parent doesn't mind fielding.

Look up!  Take it in.  Don't be in such a hurry to forget the things that got you here.

Take a back road.  Stop at a Dairy Queen.  Eat at a Habit.  Talk to someone.  Do you know how to even start a conversation with a total stranger?  I do! But then again, I'm often considered the Strange (er).
