Considering we beat the crap out of the legs yesterday doing conditioning, today's activity didn't seem to suffer at ALL.
I can't say enough about the Saturday Morning Squat/Dead Lift Crew.
From neophyte to folks that have been with me since the dawn of time, everyone seems to mesh like a well oiled machine.
Even my son, who is Nine years old, mixes it up with the vets pretty well.
There is the right mixture of helping each other with the correct amount of BANTER that is always healthy in the gym.
Spotters don't panic, but haven't lost anyone (yet..thank God)
Lifters work hard and listen to instruction.
Off to CostCo and Lowe's, then Skill Skating lessons for the H (no hockey equipment makes it look like it is free style fun) Then some home improvements for the afternoon.
When I've been introduced to new people and they ask to define myself, with "...and what do you do?" I always answer them in this manner...."I am husband to my wife April, Father to my son Hunter...AND I am a Gym Teacher"
I don't let my vocation dictate my JOBS!
I surely hope someone is inspired by that one to make the change for themselves.
Tomorrow is Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and those Mom's that fill in for the misplaced fellas. No one can do YOUR job, better than you.
Box Squat:
Work up the five reps we did last week, utilizing the Mastodon Bar and a HIGH box allowing for 3" ABOVE parallel.
Add 20 more pounds than last time and do TWO sets of FIVE reps
Dead Lift:
8 sets of 2 reps at the same weight we did last Saturday for the singles.
