I've been asked on numerous occasions, "Coach, how come we don't do snatches, cleans, power cleans, clean and jerks" or basically, Oly Lifts? My answer is simple, "Because I don't know them".

I mean, I can do them but because the Olympic Lift is a Sports Skill that requires a lot of repetition (and not all at once like what happens in Crossfit) when training an athlete for an upcoming sports season there are for me many other ways to accomplish the same thing without taking the time.

A lot of Strength Coaches swear by them, and rightfully so. These coaches have practiced them and can teach them.

I personally feel I get the same effect teaching the triple extension by way of explosive squats and deadlifts and a box jump rather than an Olympic snatch and/or Power Clean.

Today's Training:

I restrained my hamstring/calf muscle on Friday. (F'n around with a female MMA fighter and found out. hahaha) so I was "testing" its firepower.

Walk: 3 miles. This sucked

Cycle: Not too bad

GHR: 4x10 with a limited range of motion

Leg Curl: 8x13 with no weight, simple prone leg curls on a bench. Not to bad

Pushups: 60

Blast Strap Row: 60

Deadlift: 2 rep Max THESE went better than expected...(nothing to write home about, BUT...)

Cycle: Again, not too bad
