I was a wondering why we ALL have such an addiction to the gyms that we train in.
Is it because of the types of people that workout there? We all have the same characters. Their names might be different, but the TYPE of person is in every gym.
Could it be the type of EQUIPMENT that's in the gym? OK here's a plug for the company..."If it isn't EliteFTS equipment then it's just an inferior gym". But seriously, we ALL have some TYPE of equipment that will mimic other gyms.
Is it the convenience of the gym's location? Nope, there is virtually a gym on just about every corner.
NO! I think the addiction for me is, the gym can be a politically incorrect place where you can say things that any other setting would be frowned on. You can speak openly, and candidly without offending anyone. If they DO become offended, you can always remedy the situation by dropping a bar on them, or something like steal their post workout shake, but usually we are accustom to the gloves off approach to the camaraderie.
The gym for most of us, is a safe haven and not taken for granted.
The gym is "spiritual" for some, and an Oasis for stress relief for others.
I like it when my people come in and "hang out" for more time than they actually need for training. Sort of like the "BARBER SHOPS" of yesteryear. We meet, talk politics and sports. We talk about relationships and successes. We talk about failures and broken relationships, and even death.
I like my gym. I like YOUR gym I don't take them for granted. I like what they have to offer, and so will you if you can get beyond the actual work and labor.
Today wasn't a highly motivated day. I was a bit tired from yesterday so here's the specs on today's training:
4 way neck: 1x25x5.5
Pull Ups on the Wide Parallel handles of the Monkey attachment: 10x5
C/S Rows (with my new handles) 4x8x75
DB Pull Overs: 4x12 for the stretch.
That's it!
