Here's the thing... I am a minimalist! When it comes to nice things, I don't mind them, I'm just not going to purchase them if I have a way of doing it with what I have.
Shoes...I say..."hahahahahahah...shoes...hahahahahah" just about every chance I get to my friends that are into them.
I'm glad for them, but I don't need shoes.
Extravagant programs and change in them every three months.
NO!
I've been doing the Conjugate Program for over 10 years with some basic bodybuilding thrown in for accessory work.
Heart rate monitors...cool, but I don't find a need for them.
Example, If you have been following my training, I've been on a daily dose of 5Ks because I have been horrible at them as of recent.
Each day I head out the back gate of my property onto the park's trail.
I start slow until I get that familiar FEEL in my legs.
Recently, I've been pissed off at how awful my lungs SOUND! They fucking whistle.
So, my indicator is that whistle.
The pace today was faster because I dropped my wife AND dog on the run. Both were slightly behind me today as I searched the "speed of whistle".
The air was rushing by my ears at a faster rate, and my heart rate didn't exactly thump in my ears like a good bass that is heard from the kid's cars these days.
I check the clock as I head out, and look at it when I go back into the kitchen after the run.
IT ISN'T TAKING ME AS LONG!!!!
It is taking me longer to achieve the "Whistle".
I train for the "whistle". I WANT that "Whistle"
Until I whistle no more.
FAK that whistle!!!!
