The more I see on social media and the old interwebs the more I realize people are full of sh!t. I guess everyone has got to make a living, but we don't have to buy it. The number of useless exercises out there is just stupid. Actually, some of these movements do more harm than good, believe me, I have learned the hard way.

Yes, even I after 36 years of dedicated training, have fallen prey to trying some of these dumb movements. I tried to convince myself that Turkish get-ups would be great for me. Or that I should be doing bottom-up kettlebell presses during warm-ups. The problem is with how busted up my body is, one false move with these exercises leaves me in a much worse place than where I started.

Chances are if you are reading this you like to do some version of squatting, deadlifting, and pressing. I'll also hazard to guess you really could give a rats a$$ about Cossack squats. Me too. So instead of fooling myself that I need to do single leg bosu ball squats, I started working on my mobility.

There is nothing more functional than strength. How functional you are is predicated on your mobility. Dedicate some time to both modalities and you will be functional as you ever need to be.
